Stubborn Druid

WoWScrnShot_061117_122540Warcraftier had an awesome week of achievements in Nighthold.  Between Heroic and Normal, I think we got all but the final Spellblade one since you have to kite and kill her in three areas.  All that’s left is the shattered walkway for that annihilate screaming wench.

I took the hunter in for a test run and she really is a hell of a lot of fun to play.  I’ve technically been playing her all weekend trying to get the class mount, working on rep, and trying to finish out Suramar.

The class mount quest line was pretty amazing.  I’m kicking myself for not streaming it or having it recorded.  (Sorry guys.  Epic fail on my part.)  Loved running around in the dark in the hunting grounds stalking and shooting the spirits.  And of course, I love my Wolfhawk.

WoWScrnShot_061017_125255But I’m stubborn.  And I don’t want to jump ship on my Druid just yet.  While I’m not convinced that the changes in 7.2.5 will help in the least, I do enjoy the challenge of playing her.  The hunter is great to relax on.  Send in the pets and just aim and shoot.  Sure there’s a bit more to it, but I’m successfully soloing elites on the Broken shore with her thanks to her pets and just standing back.  (Another good reason why Druids are still broken compared to other specs.)

But like I said.  I’m stubborn and I enjoy the challenge.

And I’m not ready to give up on her yet.

Family Duels

In our little guild, we have a list of people that need to be nerfed.  (This is all in good fun, so Blizzard, please don’t nerf us.)

There are three people consistently on that list.

One of our hunter’s, primarily because he’s one of those rare folks that refuses to run any type of meter or check his DPS, rarely cares where he ranks on them, and always thinks he is probably at the bottom…and he’s always at the top.  Or close to it.

My druid, which is probably more a joke, but who wants to argue with what Qale and Mord say?  She was tossed on there back in Mogu’shan Vaults when she was switched from Feral to Restoration.  Once she had some healing gear (and a mana pool that stuck around a bit), they keep saying I need a nerf.

And at the top of the list…is Dereus.

Yes.  Dereus, my wonderful Twin that whenever we get together, we break something.

He gets the top spot for his uncanny ability for soloing bosses.  (He apparently tanked Nefarian down to 1% during Cata after the raid wiped.)  He solo survived Ultraxion when we foolishly tried to duo/trio? him on 25 man heroic at the beginning of Pandaria, before we were well geared.  He pulled an entire boat full of dinosaurs and trolls (the one out on the Isle of Giants with the big elite troll caster) and (with some heals from me) held them all while he and Qale killed them.  He is constantly the last man standing when told to wipe the encounter because the man just won’t die.

There are times he has to turn his back to the bosses, sit down, and watch Netflix so he won’t accidentally rip aggro from the other tank.

He’s also one of the nicest guys you’ll meet in and out of game.

Last expansion, when I was doing a lot of PVP as a Shadow Priest, we thought we’d try to duel each other.  Turns out, he’s unkillable there as well.  I was too apparently, because the duel went for about 10 minutes before he got stuck in a wall when I feared him.  Best I could do was get him down to 25-50% health before his “I’m a little Pally and I won’t die” would kick in and he’d be at full health again.

We laughed, a lot actually, but never really tried again.

Until this week.

Screen Shot 2015-03-27 at 2.01.34 PMJust for kicks, I thought I’d give it another go…on my hunter.  The one that just hit 100 a week ago.

This is something that will never happen again, but I did it.  I got him down and won the duel!  Woo!

We tried again today and sure enough, he beat the snot out of me.  He learns quick, so confusing him with Stampede wouldn’t work this time around.

Dueling with friends is awesome because you can work out what works and what doesn’t.  Today, I swapped around talents and tried different combinations and by the third duel, I still couldn’t beat him, but he was well within Kill Shot range and he actually had to bubble.  (He didn’t have to on the first two today.)  I realize I have to work on my mobility a lot and get better with my rotation to tangle him up a bit.  Remember, he can’t hit me if he can’t reach me.  🙂

To Dereus!  He’s the training dummy that fights back and kicks my arse!  Just another reason why he’s awesome.  Please Blizzard don’t nerf him.  I need to heal him Mondays and Wednesdays!

Barrage all the things!

I might have mentioned it once.  When I was introduced to WoW, I wanted to play a hunter.  The guy I was dating didn’t want me to because Night Elf hunters with Sabers were everywhere.  So clearly, I became and undead warlock.  /chuckle

Every expansion, I always seem to bounce around a bit, filling out roles we don’t have, etc.  There’s been a couple characters I’ve made just for the heck of it that I found myself enjoying and didn’t really want to stop playing.  There was my Enhancement Shaman back in Wrath of the Lich King, my Paladin that I finally leveled in Cataclysm (I just couldn’t get those guys past 20), and the druid I came back to after so many expansions had already passed.

We’re still missing a few things on the Stay Classy Achievement, one was a human hunter, and since Garrosh saw it fit to give a Druid a freaking Bow, that same Druid who also got the Legendary Bow Drop from Sunwell, it just really seemed that Blizzard wanted the only person that could never level a hunter past 30 to be a hunter.

I’ve tried.  Really, I have.  I have a couple of level 10’s maybe floating around on various servers that were started in Vanilla.  Even my very first heirloom was the mail chest piece for a hunter.  Even then, I ended up deleting her around level 30.

Now, I’ve always liked them.  Even when you had to feed your pet and keep it’s mood up so it wouldn’t leave you.  Once I even had a Horde Tauren hunter (in the 30’s of course) that I did some PVP on and was complimented for being pretty good at it for that level by an alt of a guy in one of the top PVP guilds on our server at the time.  (WING CLIP FOR THE WIN!)

Still, could not level them.

Apparently, I still can’t.  I got her to 60 and said to hell with it and boosted her.  My want to start the Gara Tame line and max out another set of professions for the achievement was just too great.  Not to mention, I didn’t want to mess around in Hellfire for what seems like the 100th time.

I’ve had the free boost sitting and waiting to be used since I picked up WOD and I wouldn’t mind using another one or two for a few other characters.  The walk through on your abilities was pretty helpful, even though it kind of freaked me out at first since everything I had on my bars was gone and I had to rebuild everything.  (Also, yeah for free flying all the places!)

Screen Shot 2015-03-18 at 6.09.11 PMAnywho, she’s kind of an ugly human, I have no clue how I’m going to transmog her because I really don’t  care much for any of the armor sets (except for the two widely used sets on my server, that would be this one and this one.)  I completed the Gara tame line yesterday and I think I love her a bit more now.

And Barrage.  Barrage is awesome.  Because for me it’s the equivalent of Starfall.  Just like with Starfall, you’re going to get all the things, but it’s better, because as a hunter (unless you’re Lone Wolf Specced), you’ve got a buddy to grab all the new friends you’ve made.  It’s perfectly fine to grab all the things as long as you have a way to keep them off of you so you can kill them all.  As a Druid, I use a tank friend who’s less than thrilled about it.  As a hunter, I’m using the furry friend that I no longer have to feed to perk him back up.  I can’t always say the same thing about using a tank friend. >.>

So that’s where I’m at right now.  How about you?  What trouble are you getting up to in Draenor?
