Melting Druid

It’s no fun when you get home from work, have about 15 minutes to get a stream set up and ready for raid, then discover your AC isn’t actually working and it’s about 10 degrees hotter than what it should be in your house.

And for it to continue not working all during raid as you are making attempt after attempt on KJ.

That’s a dying druid. In more ways than one.

AC should be fixed sometime this summer when they finally get the heating and cooling company to come out and redo the duct work.  Some day.  No biggie. I know my friends across the pond are having a worse time of it than I.  Stay hydrated everyone.

As for TOS, make sure when you go in there, you check out the scenery.  Night one, we went 6/9 on normal.  We hit Maiden about 10-15 minutes before our stop time and our mechanics were a tad off.  Going back in last night to try to finish it up though, it too a few tries, but we got our movement down a bit better.

1: make sure your fel and light groups are standing on their respective tanks

2: rotate the infusion swaps the same way each time, as in move around the boss to your left, so you’re not crossing each other

3: When you have the bomb, jump in the hole at the halfway mark, not the 2 seconds left mark, to keep from killing yourself with fall damage.

4: Move as a group to the boss when she’s doing her shield so you can collect the bubbles together.  One person running ahead can screw the entire side out of a decent buff to their damage and healing.  Not cool.

Once you get that down a bit better, it’s not too shabby.  Granted, those might change in Heroic and Above, but for now, that worked much better once everyone was working together properly.

Fallen Avatar wasn’t too bad either.  Making sure the add is moved in a timely fashion to get to the where the next beam will be needs some work and better coordination.

But KJ.  Man, he’s a jerk.  He hits the tanks like a freight train.  Trying not to soak more than one Armageddon at a time so the debuff doesn’t kill you or piss your healers off gets dicey during the first intermission where it comes more frequently.

Getting through intermission 2 into phase 3 happened a few times, but not enough to be completely successful.  Oddly, it seems phase 3 was a heck of a lot easier than the first two though.

I suspect he’ll go down next week if we don’t go back in Monday and finish the job.

All in all, it’s a pretty neat raid so far.  Druid approved!

New Adventures

Who’s ready for Tomb of Sargeras?

Warcraftier will be making our first foray into the raid tonight.  We’ll be starting with Normal.  If we plow through it, we’ll jump to Heroic with what time we have left and focus on that the rest of the week.

Want to see how we do?  Be sure to join us tonight, 7pm CST.  I’ll be streaming from my Point of View over on my Twitch Channel.  Expect lots of screaming and Starfalls.  Or something.

Hope to see you there!

Stubborn Druid

WoWScrnShot_061117_122540Warcraftier had an awesome week of achievements in Nighthold.  Between Heroic and Normal, I think we got all but the final Spellblade one since you have to kite and kill her in three areas.  All that’s left is the shattered walkway for that annihilate screaming wench.

I took the hunter in for a test run and she really is a hell of a lot of fun to play.  I’ve technically been playing her all weekend trying to get the class mount, working on rep, and trying to finish out Suramar.

The class mount quest line was pretty amazing.  I’m kicking myself for not streaming it or having it recorded.  (Sorry guys.  Epic fail on my part.)  Loved running around in the dark in the hunting grounds stalking and shooting the spirits.  And of course, I love my Wolfhawk.

WoWScrnShot_061017_125255But I’m stubborn.  And I don’t want to jump ship on my Druid just yet.  While I’m not convinced that the changes in 7.2.5 will help in the least, I do enjoy the challenge of playing her.  The hunter is great to relax on.  Send in the pets and just aim and shoot.  Sure there’s a bit more to it, but I’m successfully soloing elites on the Broken shore with her thanks to her pets and just standing back.  (Another good reason why Druids are still broken compared to other specs.)

But like I said.  I’m stubborn and I enjoy the challenge.

And I’m not ready to give up on her yet.

Roles and Lore

And then suddenly the influx of druids we had are now….

WoWScrnShot_060417_134141

… hunters?  What the?

Not really sure what’s going on now.  Not sure if all druids decided to switch or not, but Tuesday’s raid only had one druid in it…Serbear.  As a boomie.  Not a bear.  The heck?

Awesome news, I’ll be joining fellow GirlStreamer emixpemix on her stream as a guest on Saturday.  You might recognize her from hanging out in chat during my midday stream.  She’s across the pond and on Saturdays, usually right after my stream, she’s streaming and talking about the Warcraft lore.

The story is a big part of what hooked me to World of Warcraft in the first place and I used to be well versed in it.  I’m a tad rusty, but I’m really looking forward to this stream.  I’ll admit that this weekend’s topic, The War of the Ancients, isn’t one that I know a great deal about, but I’ve noticed, there’s a lot of current Legion content that deals with that event.  (Have you caught it?)

I hope you’ll join us!  3pm CST (10pm Em’s time!) on emixpemix’s channel.

Who to Pew pew

I think a lot of Boomkins are frustrated this expansion.  I want so much to be on par with everyone else, but I feel like I just keep falling short.

And then here’s my hunter, already putting out the same numbers with less gear.

So the question is, who to play in Tomb?  Because they’re both fun to play.  But I feel like I’m holding everyone back on the Druid.  But who’s to say I won’t hold them back on the Hunter?

Weekly Raid Thoughts

This week has been all over the place!

Monday I picked up some weird stomach bug.  Went to bed with a fever.

Thought I had kicked it by Tuesday, but when it came our Heroic Nighthold raid time, it started making an appearance again.

Enter in the night of Scruffy dies.  A lot.

I’m not sure what the heck was going on, but dang.  I was pulling aggro on mobs.  Dying to silly things.  Not moving quick enough, which is already one of my weak points.  Accidentally pulling Spellblade with the very edge and on the very last tick of Starfall.  You know, I’m pretty sure I probably died to just about every boss.  Especially the ones I don’t usually die to.

I was pretty mortified.  Even more so than usual, but as Ser says, everyone has an off night now and again.

Gul’dan was our only target left Wednesday night to take down in Heroic and we made pretty quick work of him.  And yes!  It is possible to flap off the top of the tower down to the courtyard without killing yourself.  Neat trick, Druid friends!

Even though Mythic raids are supposed to be Mondays and Thursdays and I have opted to sit them out, we found ourselves with enough people and trekking back into the Nighthold.WC_MChronomatic Anomaly

Skorpyron fell to our group again and we went back to work on Chronomatic Anomaly.

I’m thrilled to say, even though it took several attempts and I died in the last few moments of his lifespan, we have successfully taken Chronomatic Anomaly.

WC_MTrilliaxAND TRILLIAX!

That’s right!  Took three attempts for Trilliax, but he’s down too!  We’re 3/10M now!

I’m still not a hardcore number cruncher, but I’m a pretty lucky Druid Lady that Warcraftier takes me along on these adventures.  It has truly been an absolute blast so far!

If you’d like to check out the kills, I’ve started a little collection on my Twitch Channel.  They’re not super polished right now, but they’re something. 🙂

Not Supposed to Be Here

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are Heroic Progression raid nights for Warcraftier.  Since the new Weapon Research will unlock tomorrow and we pretty much have up to Elisande on farm status, we elected to start at Elisande last night.  Beat her up.  Beat up Gul’dan and spend the night working on those two.

Turns out, we one shot Elisande.  And even better, I lived through the whole thing.  Gul’dan went down in 2 attempts, so that left us with a lot of time to kill.

Warcraftier has been in talks to start Mythic raiding, but that would take place Monday’s and Thursdays.  It’s also something I’m not really going to be involved with because I just don’t think I’m up to snuff, don’t really have the time or even the availability for it.

But tonight, we stepped in to Mythic Nighthold.

We were even down a player, so 19/20 people in there.

And after several wipes, we took down Skorpyron.  The first Mythic Nighthold kill on Cenarion Circle.  Woot!

My DPS is still shite, at least I still feel like it is.  I got a new relic and heroic tier pants which was a nice upgrade from my normal tier pants which now brings my level to 901.

Slowly and surely, I think I’m getting there.  At least I hope I’m getting there.  I still need to nail down what I’m doing wrong and fix that.

But regardless, congratulations Warcraftier!  And thanks for letting this Scruffy Druid be a part of it!
